Going out in the morning with the kids for some white bass. Is the bite still good near the dam?

Just got back from there. Tom and I caught 13 sand bass in 6 hours of fishing. Not so good of bite.

It was a very slow...slow today. Couldn't find those sandies at all. Sporadic small school for less then 15 seconds. Even the crappies weren't biting much. Only 3 keeper crappies in 7 hours. Perhaps they'll school tomorrow by the dam. Never know. Nice to talk to you today , Ron. (GoFishNow).

It could be the post front conditions like the high blue sky and cool temperatures. I did not get out yesterday to give a a report.

Went out Tuesday from about 0930 to sunset as we loaded the boat. Caught 27 sandies, some good sized and some dinks back in the water. But no schools we saw and could not get a bite on a slab and jigs rigs. Saw a lot on the bottom just no takers. We finally sunk to trolling and would catch 1 to 2 at a time. When we both got one and saw them on the bottom and sometime suspended, we would stop and chunk our slabs. I guess we should have tried down sizing the slab but gosh the 2 road runner jigs are down sized so not sure it would have made a difference. Used a HellPet on our 2 trolling rods. Had fun but sure was a long day. Also caught 1 nice channel cat and one small black bass trolling.

I've been told you have to be on the lake to catch fish. One day can be great and the next you get skunked doing the same thing in the same place. A lot of fishing fun is just being out on the lake.
