Went out today from 9:45 AM to 2 PM with TFFer FlyingMonkey70 (Scott). We ended up with 40 fish: 32 whites, 3 hybrids, 3 cats and 2 yellow bass. We caught fish at Key Ranch Drop-off, Spillway Hump, Enchanted Isle Ridge, Game Warden Hump and Iron Wall Hump. The best spot was Enchanted Isle Ridge in 14 to 15 fow. The 3 hybrids were caught at Iron Wall Hump with largest at 23 inches. We did best with #4 Mepps but also caught some with #2. Fish were very persnickidy (sp?) today requiring a lot of finesse to get them to strike.

Pic of Scott with nice white bass caught on #4 Mepps

Yours truly with hybrid caught on #4 Mepps

Nice pictures Dennis. Scott is a really nice guy and I am sure he soaked in your knowledge. Looks like the conditions were perfect for you to share the Mepps method. Looking forward to coming out next weekend and doing some fishing.

We saw ya out there fishing. We were in the 24' CC. Fished pretty much all the same spots and had a lot less luck.

Dennis, thank you very much for taking me out. I had a great time and learned a lot. Dennis is a generous host. He picked me up at my dock and even provided lunch(peanut butter crackers). For those that are like me who struggle with structure fishing it was very educational. There are some subtle things that Dennis does that are hard to pick up. I was mimicking what he did, with the same mepps lures on basically the same tackle. He probably outfished me 5-1. Of the 40 we caught he easily caught 30 of them, including three hybrids in a row. The one in the photo was not the largest one. Other than the company the highlight of the day was the weather. It was sensational and I was lucky enough to be on the water most of the day.

Tom, hope to see you next time you're out. Will be two weeks till i return.

I limited out at Game Warden hump in about an hour between 5-6pm. All big sandies and a couple LMB. Moved to Key Ranch Drop looking for hybrids like I have found for the last few weeks but no luck.

Dennis I need to drag my boat down there one weekend and go fishing with you. The water in Hubbard is at a dangerously low level so I have been staying off the water for the last month. Sounds like CC is still a hot spot to fish.

Gene, come on down. It would be worth it to me just to see and ride in your new boat. Give me a couple days notice and send me a PM.

Yes Dons port is still open but don't know how much longer it will be if we don't get a good rain. The concrete is bad at the end of the ramp.

White boat. Center console with three guys in it. 24' so it's hard to miss.
