 there's a 12 foot gator in lake bastrop..

i was on the carp hunt earlier and lost a rod over the side to a big carp..i went swimming and found the rod. i fought the carp to the bank and lost it trying to grab it (big 15 pound buffalo)..well an hour or so later a 12 foot gator cruises by..no more swimming for me in lake bastrop
anyway there a 12 foot alligator in lake bastop, just a heads up..lots of kids in the water today

buffalo, i just kinda categorize all the carp species as carp..
talked to the ranger on the way out of the park and apparently he knows about the gator..

kinda my thoughts, need to take the rifle next time.. really they need to either kill it, remove it or put signs up and not allow swimming

i was in the kayak about 300-400 yards from the north shore ramp. kinda where the boy scout camp is, could see an entire group of kids in the water just a few hundred yards from the gator

Gators in a lot of lakes. Should just assume they are there but evidentally they aren't much of a threat as you never hear more than a rare sighting of them.

There's no telling what all lakes they are in. I've seen 'em in Fork, Sandlin and Rayburn.

I have lived worked and swam in waters where gators are seen all my life. Not to make light of it but they are alligators, not crocks. Your dog is in more danger than you are. A gator will walk through a yard full of kids to get to the family pet. That being said, I wont tolerate one swimming close to my family.
