I have already destroyed one float tube trying to get out of this pond. I slipped in the muddy bank and fell on the tube. All the seams around the main bladder split. This pond is full of bass. There is only one access point. Like I said it is weedy, muddy, and slippery as ice. I have decided to carry a rope with me next time. Park as near the access point as possible. Tie the rope off to the truck and toss the other end in the water. Hoping that will give me purchase to get up the bank. I just bought an open end tube and am not quite sure how to get in the water from that bank with out getting into trouble.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You are walking backwards correct? It's the only way I've ever been able to walk with flippers on my feet.

I never enter the water with my flippers on. There's no reason to really. Put them on when your sitting in the tube. Another thing, why is it so muddy there? It hasn't rained in forever.

The rope will work better if it has some kind of hand holds. Knots at regular intervals work with thicker ropes, but are hard to adjust and don't help with holding position for any length of time. I use a thinner rope with short sections of drilled PVC pipe knotted in for hand holds.
A portable ramp of some kind would also be helpful. You can make one from a old ladder bolted to a wooden base, so that the rungs provide firm footing and you don't slide. You can also dump rocks and gravel at your entry point to give better footing against mud for a non portable approach.

The bank is steep and Texas black dirt. No traction at all. Had some ancient hinged flippers on but they had come off my feet and were riding around my shins. This is a dug out pond, no natural gentle slope. You could not get out even with out anything on. It's a drop off. I know you are supposed to find a gentle slope to enter and exit but this place has only one access point. The weeds are thick and have not been mowed all year. But the pond is full of bass.
I have an old round float that takes an inner tube instead if bladder. When I locate one that will fit that will be the one I use. I can more or less wear it and I don't think I can hurt it. I just bought a new ooen front tube and dont want to mess it up. Thats why I am looking for tips from you expdrience tubers.

Makes sense. GPA, come on out to farmersville sometime. We can go to southlake and catch some nice fish and find some things that can make tubing easier on you.

You might find it easier to take a machete to some of the weeds and enter/exit there. Could that be possible?

How about a rope ladder Acnhored into the ground somewhere? perhaps one of those Rescue ladders people use to climb out of their 2nd story apartment?
