I wasn't talking about "fun boats", I was talking about fishermen being on the water to have fun fishing.

And sadly most bass boats now fit the "fun boat" category, at least on Joe Pool Lake. Last year I saw more bass boats on full plane passing too close to anchored boats, boats trolling and even swimmers on Joe Pool Lake than I have seen the other categories of "fun boats" doing the same thing.

I generally stay off the lake on weekends due to the "fun boats" on the lake then. Weekends I fish from my slip, weekdays I fish using the boat.

This is one of the few benefits of being old and retired, I can fish the days I want to fish. (If my health allows, which it hasn't this year to date.)

Not everyone can afford a "bass boat" not everyone can pull a pontoon boat. I own a "fish and ski" I call a bass boat, because it resembles one, but its still considered a "fish and ski". Its what I could afford, and I'm sure im not the only one out there. So not everyone in "fun boats" are exactly [censored]. Now when you see the people with the party boats and the huge speakers etc, then you have a point. But thats just me cause I live in Lewisville.

I look at your boat and see a fishing boat I look at the boat in op's photo and see trouble ie my "fun" boat comment. Don't read into my post too deep here fellas. They do make fish and skis that are more geared towards fishing and vise versa. The boat creeping on op's spot is geared more for skiing and my opinion of its looks verified that the owner and everyone in it are acting like teenagers (they look to be in their later ages too)

The boat in op's pic doesn't even have a TM which seals the deal for me

My first boat was a deep V "fish and ski" boat. Never pulled a skier while I owned it. And it cost more than my current boat.

My current pontoon is a Sun Tracker 18DLX, which costs less than most "fish and ski" boats. And is the fishing model, no radios or speakers on it. smile

A "Fun" boat, in my opinion of course, is any boat that is operated by individuals who could care less about other people on the lake and display immensely bad manners in the way they operate the boat around other lake users. They operate their boats at high speed around swimmers and anchored or slow moving boats that are fishing and could care less what impact their wake has on the people they pass.

They operate their equipment at high speed around other boats when they could be out on the open lake instead of running down the shore line.

So from my observations over the last year, the worse offenders are jet skis, whose operators seem to think it is "cool" to run circles around anchored or slow moving boats, and bass boat operators, who run on plane down the shoreline to go from point to point.

So sorry to hear that. I've seen it all this summer. Geeez. Get the game warden on speed dial to save the next people they do that to. They had to be intoxicated and may have hurt someone with that attitude. I wish I could be a good man like you. They'd had gotten a much deserved motor trim and a hot foot to the floor. Geez!
