Hello everyone. New to the forum, and to fishing in general. I live very close to Bachman and have tried a few times in the afternoons out there with all different setups, but haven't even had a single bite. I'm fishing from the area marked with a red X below. I've tried crank baits, spinners, top water and plastic worms Texas jigged. Any advice on maybe a better location, setup, time, etc would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not a fan of bachman at all. I've fished where your "X" is many times and even though it's one of the few places with any type of structure or cover, I've never caught a thing from that area. Only place I've fished and caught 2 dinks, were on the opposite end of the lake from where you are. On the side with the dam, and I walked around and fished close to the spillway. I park at the Bachman Rec Center and walk around the dam. I used a crawfish colored crankbait. Some have caught some decent bass from Bachman, but I'll only go back if all my other spots completely dry up from a drought. Between it being such a hard place to fish coupled with the d-bag rowing club guys...it's a waste of time.

Ben, I believe That side of Lemon will be out of bounds, unless something has changed. Jody will go over that on Sunday morning. Everything you mentioned works there, time and color are the variables.

Thanks for the tips. Any other small spots you recommend around the area. I don't mind a little drive, but I want somewhere a little quiet so white rock is out for me. With two kids at home under 3 years old, fishing is about the only quiet alone time I get anymore...LOL

Oh no, I may have commented in the wrong place and if so I'm sorry. Is this for a tournament coming up soon? I just saw a lot of posts in here about what people were catching out there.

We are less than 24 hours from our tournament. I will be there around 6 am for registration and I will close the books at 6:45. Please get there early! About 10 minutes prior to the event I will give everyone instructions on boundaries and discuss giving everyone a space cushion. We will be enforcing this and points will be deducted if these rules are not observed.

Click the link in my signature and register for the event if you are planning to attend. Also, please bring the correct change. Thanks and good luck!

The Superpot October tournament is this Sunday from 7-12 at Oak Grove Park on Lake Grapevine. Click on the link in my signature for info. When you register, you will find all the info, it's right there.

With that being said, I wish the guys from the East all the best of luck. With a win this will put us at an advantage for the ECS. East Side Strong !

i havent got any info on boundaries so the entire Oak Grove Park shoreline is fine with me. be mindful near the marina. there is a certain cut off point and if you fish past it, there is usually a guy who will come and chew you a new one. Good luck to all.

Im still on the fence about this one. Low lake, not having pre fished, and a semi-long drive = me not wanting to go lol. Ill just save my money and use it for big bass at ECS.
