Heard rumor that there is a planned draw down to 166' in the next month to work on flood gates. Anybody else heard anything on this?

With our current drought, I wouldn't drop anything right now!

I doubt it other than normal draws for winter and spring rains

OK, so more info. Supposed to run both generators 24/7 starting tomorrow 10/1/14 to bring lake down between 166 and 167ft to do some work to the floodgates that hasnt been done since they were installed. Guess we will know soon enough.

Curious as why the flood gates were not repaired or maintenance work conducted during the 2011 drought with the lake at record low levels around 158' ?

It was at 167 last year at this point. Wouldn't be a big difference other than affect the fishing for a short time

My feeling is they always need a reason to produce power.... If this is true. One reason I am no longer a fan of hydro electric capabilities on Dams.

Unless we have a HARD COLD Winter then it will kill the grass.

This is the annual TB rumor. I spoke to SRA-Texas TB office today and they advised there is no truth to the drawdown. If you look at the water level chart for TB over the last month, you would swear it is being drained. Lake down over a foot even though it has received 4 inches of rain.
