Flamingo, Florida, Snake Bight. Fished it from a kayak for many years, 100+ trips: snook, tarpon, redfish, sawfish, trout, jack cravalle, crocodile, burmese python, porpoise, manatee, flamingo, bull shark, lemon shark. Some incredible sights and sounds every time out. Stay in Key Largo and fish for bonefish and permit then make the boat ride across Florida Bay to fish for everything else. The snook have made a big come back since the cold spell several years ago. Or stay in Miami and drive to Flamingo, fish offshore Miami for sailfish, or local for peacocks, whatever you feel like fishing for depending on the weather. Great inshore snook and tarpon fishing in downtown Miami area for 15 to 20 lb snook.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

haha I hear ya. I was blessed enough to fish Bell about 2 months ago and lost what was said to be an easy 15 at the boat cry but since she never got in the net we will never know! Good luck on your next fishing adventure!

I do a wonderful road trip to Mexico. We have been going down the West Coast for 25 years as often as we can find customers to go. It is a two day drive to the lakes.
Lakes fished:
- Lake Oviachic - One hundred bass per day with 50 over 5 lbs.. Great accommodations and good food.
- Lake El Salto - Need to be there when the nets are out. Not a easy thing to do. The average is about 50 bass per day with a real shot at one in the 12 lb. class.
- New Lake Picachos - Fishing of course is crazy good in the 3 to 4 lb. class. Over 100 each day and throw in a few 5 and 6 lbers.. A few 10's and 11's have been caught.

We pull my 20 ft. Skeeter down to Mexico. You and your partner get the front of the boat each day. We fish as many days as you can stay. I take care of everything; just get in and ride.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Just my 2 cents here, but sailfishing was not anything like I thought it would be, been to Costa Rica twice. Everyone has their preferences though, but riding and watching your bait for hours was painful. Seeing the rise and the bite was exciting but the fight was not what I expected.

Now rooster fish? Completely different story. I have no doubt a 40 lb rooster fish tied tail to tail with an 80 lb sailfish would drown that sailfish quick. 20-30 minute fight on 30 lb line for a good rooster fish. They are like tanks.

If you're up to it physically, fishing from a kayak ($100/day) in Costa Rica is some great fun. Anything from big sting ray, HUGE needlefish, cubera snapper, jack crevalle, barracuda, bonefish, dorado and rooster fish can be caught <150 yards off shore. http://www.costaricawildfishing.com/rates.html The guides name is Ralph. He can also schedule you an inshore half day trip for around $400 and go catch some big roosterfish and amber jack. If you want sailfish, tuna and marlin, that's available there as well. Below pic and my signature pic are from trips with Ralph. I have no idea how this guy got this rooster fish in from a kayak. I've got to get back down there. grin

I've read many reports of 100 fish days, also seen many TV shows filmed there, where they absolutely whack em. Of course it's still fishing so nothing is guaranteed..

I have heard many times that the chandeleur islands is an awesome trip - wade fishing for trout and reds. You go out to the island in a boat, dropped off on a house boat and have fishin boats to take you out. I would love to do this one day. Another awesome trip, I have done this one myself a couple times is port Mansfield wade fishing for trout and reds. The red numbers are the greatest in September and October. Oh my god is it an incredible sight when a huge red or trout blows up on a topwater!

Right now somewhere up north for smallies is at the top of my list. Next would be Lake Fork and then a fly fishing trip in New Zealand or something like that.

Tennessee??

I know a guy who just got back from Wisconsin and they had a blast. They fished a bunch of different small lakes and they put the 21' Ranger in each of them so they must have easy access. But they caught the heck out of them with quite a few 4-6 lbers. He said it was like those fish had never been fished for. I'm trying to plan a trip up there for next fall

Bissett...................That is EXACTLY what I'm looking for!!! Any chance you'd share some more details or pm me with some lake names or the general area they fished?? The smaller the lakes the better as I generally get my butt kicked on huge bodies of water as I'm not the best with my electronics, but if I can just go "fishing"...............I'll cast and flip from sunup till sundown and I'd LOVE to catch a 6 pound smallie!! 4.5 is my biggest in Canada.
