I have my first fiberglass bass style boat in many years- been on deck & pontoon boats- So this may be just me but i'm sure it pulls way more to the right when planed out & the faster the more pull- Now I put a new trim tab on & its as far to the right as possible - I know a certain amount of pull is normal but this is too much- Trimming don't seem to have much effect-- It a 18' Basstracker with a 90 hp Merc with 17P prop-- Any ideas please? Heres the boat-

It's usually the trim tab or bent skeg. I can't for the life of me remember which way to turn the tab to correct torque steer

If you're talking about the tab on the motor, you move he tab to the left. It creates a force that turns the motor not the boat. I got confused the first time I adjusted mine.

Replaced the tab with a new one- helped but not enough-You point the rear of it to the right (facing rear of motor) to the right to keep the boat from going to the right as much-

best thing to help that is a torque tab welded onto the skeg.
i have two ways of doing it.
but, i always weld into the skeg.. not pop rivet or bolt on!!

something else to check is the cables.
make sure there is no play in them.

Thanks Steve- I just ordered a long tab - figure for under $20 it'd be worth a try- I've done a little research on the torque tab on the skeg & that will be the next step if needed- Might need to pick your brain on size/location ect?

I had a trim tab once. I got it for free so I tried it. I lost close to 3 mph so it came off. It worked great and felt like the diff between power steering and non. With a 90 you should not lose much if any speed.

hydraulic steering will cure all your steering ails Thought about it- installed a couple on others boats but I doubt i'll keep it long enough to justify cost & i'm about max on its value now-

hydraulic steering will cure all your steering ails No sir it wo`nt. Put hydraulic on a Nitro (customers request) that was pulling hard right and it was still stiff to turn left. 1/2in tall trim tab on back-right side of skeg fixed it. 3.5 - 4in piece of old bow from the early motorguide TM mount works good for weld on tabs. Some of the later model Tracker-Nitro boats have problems listing to one side.
