Well more like a thought I had a while ago.

Last month I went to Tailwaters Fly shop in Dallas just to browse around and look at rods. I got some simms gloves for those days when its so hot the sun melts the sunscreen right off of you. Upon checkout I saw a box of strike indicators and immediately said, "Practice flies!". Not stoping to think what they really were I took 2 and put them up on the counter to buy them. I got some funny looks but i didn't really care. About 5 minutes later I looked at them again said to my dad, "you know what? These are actually strike indicators". to which he laughed and said, "I know".

Just to specify, i'm talking about this kind of strike indicator. Not the ones that look like bobbers.

So there is my thought of the day. Use strike indicators as practice flies.

Thanks Moon

I saw you yesterday at the Texoma on the fly get together, but I didn't get to talk to you.

Not to hijack your thread, but these Gorilla Grip gloves are on sale at
WalMart garden center for $4.00. Carefully cut the fingertips off, and you are good to go. They don't unravel. I used these all summer, and the look brand new.

Bamboo and a green trout? Send that image to Gierach! He'd lose his mind.
