Just got the dreaded news! Number 1 and 2 cylinder blew! The care I took on this motor, with yearly tune-ups,ring free, yamalube, stabil, and always warming up motor! Ugh! $8 grand to repair! Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen, and the route they took? Talked to Yamaha, and they said they were truely sorry!

How old is the motor? How many hours?

There is a place out by Cedar Creek, that will do a rebuild for somewhere @7K and will give you a two year warranty

They were bad about blowing. I bought an experienced , 2006,20i with a 250 that had blown and been replaced with a series 2. I ran it for six years with zero issues.

Talked to Yamaha tech today,he took the time in detail and showed me the damage. He said he can only speculate, but it appears the injectors are the reason.Their wasn't any overheat codes,or high rpm's. Looks like which ever route I take,it's ethanol free gas for me,when possible! The good news, several customers have inquired, about it,in the yard! Go figure, very few Skeeter Dealers in Alabama!

Also as a side note, gas didn't sit in that boat long! Ran it @ least twice a week or more! I primarily fish the Coosa river impoundments. Lay,and logan are 50 miles long! Had major shoulder surgery, and still ran it with sling! Lol...
