I will add a little hint about sight :Take a white spinnerbait lower it in the water until it disappears. Now measure the depth it disappeared, multiply the number by 4. If it went out of sight at 5'a Bass can see your bait from 20' away.

It has been a while since I read "Knowing Bass" by Dr. Keith Jones; but, I remember some very good information is included about sight and color. I can't rememebr which ones but there are colors bass cannot see. And I think red was the only color that actually drew a response.

I always thought is was the depth you could see the bait times 2. Not sure though.
