We are going to Lake Somerville this weekend. I haven't been there since I was a kid.

Just wondering what we can do fishing wise..... Bass,Crappie, bluegill etc...

We have a place in Port O Connor TX and keep our boat there. So, we fish saltwater.

Not asking for your honey holes just some info on what to fish for and what to use during this time of year.

Fish deep, shallow, lures, live bait etc...

Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

And in return if you ever need info on saltwater and or Port O Connor I would be glad to return the favor.

I've only been there once Salty. I went with my brother a few years ago. There is a bait camp on the water with old tires all around it and the folks there were catching tons of whites. Sorry but I don't remember the name of it. It was very crowded when we went. We moved on and tore up the crappie on the right side of dam. There is a point there and we anchored up about 20' from it. That was in April. We were using live minnows and Beetle Spins.

We also fish POC. You sure I don't know you?

Tight lines!

Dave,

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully this rain will let up and we get a chance to give it a try.

We may know each other and or seen each other in POC..... We have a place @ Beacon 44 RV Park that we keep year around. We also keep our boat in a stall there in POC. The boat in my signature is ours and it's the only one like it down there. The truck in my sig is also the only F-150 you will see like that. (Its a GTR which is very rare)

We fish the Big Jetties, Mitchell's Cut, Saluria, and the ICW. We typically launch from Clark's.

We should can keep in touch and have a beer one of these days when we're both in POC ?

Thanks again and have a great day !

Wow, you must be good to get that boat out on the very small ramp at Clark's! We usually stay at Clark's. My brother has a 19' Wellcraft. If we are not at Clark's, we stay at a friends house on Olive.

Let's do keep in touch.

We used to stay at Clark's all the time before we bought our 5th wheel RV. Maybe we've seen you there before ?

We liked Clark's especially having a slip there at the room included. But... We decided that as much as we go down there it would be better to get an RV and park it in POC. At least that way we own it instead of just renting a room every time we go down there.

Now we have to pull the boat out every day but.... I don't have to work as hard to get that scum line off of the boat now.

So, I guess it's a trade off...LOL grin

Yes, let's stay in touch and get together one of these days.. fish cheers
