taking the yak out, not looking for honey holes just want to know what plastics or hard lures to make sure I have. I want to streamline my tackle for the trip. Any help or advice will be welcomed. I don't get the chance to head south to often.
Thanks in advance.

May the Good Lord bless you with a bend in your rod.

fish early and late. night fishing will be better, much less traffic. fish the edges of the grass lines near structure. throw a jig with a big profile.

During the Grande Bass tournament last week it seemed like traditional GB rattlesnakes were working, also heard of folks having success with craw jigs, red was working for me. Also heard that chatterbaits with a swimbait trailer was working. Keep in mind this tournament was limited to GB baits only, but that's what was working under those rules. Grass edges worked slow apparently. Better fishing middle and east, not so hot to the west.

My therapist says she's happy I flyfish for the meditative qualities. Little does she know it's the cause of my PTSD.

Oh, and shaky heads along the pedestrian walk pilings, that won the tournament.

if you are coming down in the next few days just be aware that the lake is a muddy nasty mess due to flooding last night. Lake Austin is also a mud fest as well. give it a week and both should be fishable.

Lady Bird is actually off limits to water craft until noon on 19 September...don't know if that will change one way or the other...but, if it were me, I would wait until the lake is not a muddy mess and the fish have had time to adjust to their new environment.
