So I'm living in Houston now, going to U of H. I'm missing some fishing real bad. Y'all know anywhere I can go within a 20 min drive of Reliant Stadium? Preferably bank/pier access. I don't what species, just wanna catch something!
Lakes, Ponds, whatever, any help greatly appreciated!
I did look at the map in the sticky, but it didn't give much option within my criteria.

Best I can do is 'Tom Bass Park. 288 and Beltway 8. Bonus is the fact that they stock Rainbpws in the winter. Tom Bass 3 is the biggest. Nice facility with a small pier.

Fishing has been slow in all the ponds I fish with the cold front followed by the rains. I suspect it will turn around soon.

Have you tried Buffalo Bayou or Braes Bayou? Both are very close to you and have public access.

I wouldn't bother with Tom Bass lakes. They have their moments but gets a lots of fishing pressure. I have heard there are a lot of fish (many different species) in Brays and Buffalo Bayous, which you can access along the bike paths that run miles along it. Oyster creek that flows through Sugar land and Missouri City has a lot of bass and other fish in it. (about a 20-30 minute drive for you)
It was a different world when we were boys and girls....
