I don't see myself ever throwing a drop shot. I've gotten by without one and just don't have the confidence. If I really need to go finesse I'll throw a weighless senko or shakey head. What is something you will most likely never rig up? Alabama Rig? lol

Nothing, because I fish tournaments. Even though I can catch some fish one way, if there's a technique/lure that is going to work better, I want to be throwing it. Some days the fish want what you don't want to throw. The drop shot wins alot of money on lakes all over the country. If I were recreationally fishing all the time, it would be a different story.

Drop shot and also a shakey head. The way I figure it, you can't be real good at 20 different techniques. So somewhere, at least for me, I draw the line and go with what I think I'm good at.
As long as your techniques cover the water column from top to bottom you've got a way to catch them in all situations.

You're missing out on a lot of bites by not throwing a drop-shot. There are days when it's the only way to go. And, there's not a better bait for fishing vertically and catching fish "video game" style.

I've tried a drop shot off and on for several years now-and I've caught fish on it.
Thing is, I just don't like fishing a drop shot. Don't even know what it is-its just not for me. But you've inspired me, maybe I'll try it again sometime when nothing else is working.

Drop Shot takes practice and the right water to throw it in.....example Fork, Ray Rob, Twok...summer time in 15-25FOW...drop shot will win all day....drop shot has to be in your bag of tricks!!!
To me Buzzbaits are something that I wont throw...I've given them 3-4 years and caught one fish in that time....

Twok? I really wouldn't label Tawakoni as being a premier drop shot lake...in any circumstances.

Drop Shooting is a great way to catch fish on fork in the summer. I have caught many fish on it. Have not tried it on any other lakes though.
Thanks,
The weak call it obsession, the strong call it dedication! Jigfish

I don't have confidence in a drop shot but i still throw the thing. Never once caught a fish on it. Love me a senko though.

Twok? I really wouldn't label Tawakoni as being a premier drop shot lake...in any circumstances. Just because you don't consider it doesn't mean it isn't...i've done well there. Then again it's a confidence bait for me in the warmer months...you can catch fish on drop shot in 5ft or 30ft....I've killed with drop shot fishing docks even....it's all about confidence.
