I Have a camping trip planned there the last week of Sept, and need some ideas where I could get into some crappie. Will be staying at McCown park. Thanks for any help.

From what I understand there used to be some corps piles. Haven't had a chance to get down there and look for them yet. Back in April we caught a few in coves on some of the standing timber

The bridge was going to be one of my stops and then timber. Also planned on hitting Aquila too.

Aquilla can definitely be a humbling experience.

Recently stayed at juniper cove which isn't far from where you are going. Their crappie house was awesome ! Pretty deep hole. I used 8# test mono, 1/4 once split shot about a foot above the hook, wacky rig style circle hook (small 1/0) and jigged a medium minnow. Action was good all night long. Caught crappie and sand bass
