James, t-rig it with or without a bullet weight. The claws should be opposite of youre line knot.

Crawdads are great baits. Really good in the spring when the weather starts warming up and the crawfish actually get active again. You can fish them with or without weights. I like fishing with a bullet weight on them , much like a plastic worm. Texas rig or Carolina rig is good. Do you know how to put them on your hook? If not, here is a good article about the different rigs: http://www.bassfishingusa.com/Rigging/rigging1.htmlJust substitute the crawdad for the worm, and your all set. I like letting it fall real slow, and giving it small quick jerks with the rod. In the winter I will fish them real slow, just barely moving them off the bottom and letting them fall. This is a great technique with no weight, just letting it slowly fall to the bottom. I like using a large hook, some people don't. I like the big wide gap 5/0 type , so if you have a fat craw it can go through the belly of it real good and get a hook set. Good luck. WAVE lures had theirs on sale by the way, on some colors. They are a $1.50 per bag. You can get them here: http://www.wavefishing.com/Internet%20Specials.html

Gene Larew salt craw? Fish it texas rigged or behind a black jig. I like the watermelon and green pumkin versions pitching boat docks.
