Setx is by far the best group that I have fished with. The guys that run this group pour there hearts and souls into given the kids the best time of their lives. They also pay back 100% back to the kids they keep nothing. I know there is other high school fishing series out but please make sure you read the fine print cause some of these other series are only there for the founders to make money off these kids and to me that is wrong. That is what I like about setx these guys dont want any payment there payment is the smiles on the kids faces at the end of the day. I have also never seen as many good door prizes given away to these kids like they do with setx. I can not wait to get this season going.

That's a pretty bold statement. I hope you have some proof to back your claim.

Well in response to the first comment I'm sure he was not speaking of y'alls group. There are however groups that I know of that do appear to be doing that. Maybe he has more knowledge of them than I do. The second comment was an observation of his. I can say from personal experience they do give away thousands of dollars worth of door prizes to the kids and their captains. Giving away the door prizes takes as long as weighing in the 250 teams. Lol

This is a great way for young adults to learn to love the great outdoors. My son fished this series last year and really enjoyed it. I'm sure that this year will only be better for these young adults. I think the coolest thing is that last year not only did boys teams win. Girls won tournaments as well. This is truly a sport for all ages, sizes, shapes, and gender. I hope that in the future this sport grows year by year. I would also like to say that the support from the sponsors is unreal. Lews, Costa, Ford, Skeeter, just to name a few.

Ed my statement about reading the fine print is just a warning for anyone looking at fishing any highschool series. I just want these schools to make sure they know what they are getting into before they waste time and money fishing different series. As far as door prizes I have fished and been a boat captain at different school tournaments and I have not seen door prizes given out at other tournaments like the setx group does. If you have or run a high school series then good for you and I am glad you are involved in this growing sport and I am in no way trying to bad mouth you. There are just some involved with high school fishing teams that do not see the big picture.

Nice to see the sport growing! Hopefully now the kids will not have to explain what bass fishing is to the teachers.. hahaha Of course there is drama but its fishing. Show the other states the Texas way!!

Troutnout, Lumberton fishes with us as well in the North sometimes. I believe they are still part of the SETX.
Not 100% sure though

Yes Lumberton is in the SETX region. Bryan Thomas is the student adviser for Lumbertons fishing club. His contact number is in the original post. We had a meeting last night at the school about the upcoming tournaments for the 2014-2015 year.

Thanks for the love daddy Moore. Yes lumberton is deeply involved with SETX and will be fielding a large number of teams this year. I had a team last year that fish the north region but they graduated. Not sure if I will have any teams tha will have the time and resources to do that this year.
