It is also a method of drying the hackle on a dry fly that has been sunk. (Not that I fish a lot of dry flies. lizard)

He got his nickname from Jack at the very first txwwff yahoo group get together. Or maybe Barry. The two of them were watching him fish and it was ten false casts between presentations.
