I caught an OSCAR out of a bayou 2 feet deep with running rain water on a tiny rebel crawfish. Someone probably dumped him cause he was huge. One of my favorite catches.

Caught a bass on Eagle Mountain last year. It had no upper lip. Looked like it had a cleft pallet. LOL!! Someone was very impatient and ripped the entire upper lip off. I hated seeing that.

perch using cut shad. rockbass in a carrollton creek, but heard it's not rare. Starless, I caught a whitish, faintly yellow, long and slender sucker at Lewisville, which resembled a a river carpsucker. Caught it on the bottom, using a dead minnow. Sounds like the one you talked about....not sure on the species.

Caught walleye in Squaw Creek. They used to be very common there until the plants started up and warmed the water.

I had a turtle nibble and take a yellow magic on Timpson a couple of years ago. I've had a small gator attack a spinner bait in Lake Maner in south Texas. An otter chased my rat-l-trap back to the boat yesterday on a private lake in Anderson County. I've fished for trout fom NC thru the midwest and the Rockies to the Pacific and even in Alaska. The largest rainbow I've ever landed was on the Guadalupe - here in TEXAS.
Tomorrow, we go to Fork for an extremely large largemouth.

Wasn't a fish, but about 35 years ago I caught what TP&W called a freshwater lobster. It was about 18" long overall, with a body about 5" and the rest were the long pinchers. Caught it at night out of the Guadalupe River and first thought it was a stick. Then it started moving! Kept it in water and carried it to a bait shop for identifying, and was told TP&W wanted them. It seems they are pretty rare. When the biologist came the next day he said it was only the third one ever reported to TP&W.
Transgenders: God made them, the devil changed their minds.

I caught a freshwater oyster on rod and reel at Eagle Mountain. I was as big as my fist caught on steak while catfishing.

I didn't catch it, but on Dec 8th, of '05, I saw a guy pull a fish basket out of the bottom of White Rock Creek, in a sleet storm, that had 25 crappie still in it, with 23 of them still alive! Turns out a guy who had been there a day or so before had limited out and when he went to pull the basket out of the water, the weight of the fish in there broke the rope he had the basket tied to and it sunk. it was in about 17 ft of water when the guy hooked it, on a jig!
One of the wildest things i have ever seen!

He kept the basket, and split the fish with a few of his buddies he was fishing with. They all knew the guy that lost the basket, so the story went that they fished out the basket, but all the fish had already escaped!
Hey, that was gonna be their story and they were sticking to it! LOL
