Was hungry for some bluegills today, and decided to go to the pond to get some. One of them must have been the biggest bluegill I've ever seen!

Nice haul. Good job. cheers If the water is of good quality and the pond does not have any major urban/city run off during rains your fish should be OK to eat. thumb Also pond location is a factor. A pond that is far from factories, water treatment facilities, golf courses, etc usually holds good fish to eat. Just my two cents. 2cents

Yeah, he was a fat one. How do you recommend cooking them? Where I come from we clean out the guts, leave the scale on, and deep fry them. Their scales pop up when fried and are quite crunchy!

Try this recipe.

Fillet the fish. Lay the fillets on a sheet of wax paper. Coat the fillets with mustard using a brush. Salt and pepper the fish. Dip the prepared fillets in corn meal and deep fry in canola oil. Serve with french fries and cornbread muffins.

Yes Sir! food

Side Note: I scale em,gut em,and cut the heads off! Deep fry em using peanut or regular cooking oil,I also use Louisiana Fish Fry.Serve em up with french fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies. Fish come up great. Also love em grilled. Marinate em in a light teriyaki sauce. Turn out super! thumb
