I am sure I could post this in another section. But I am looking for the bass guys opinions.

I am very curious about this and looking for answers. This mainly pertains to Eagle Mountain Lake since that is where my observations are coming from. It is making me sick watching this lake drop every day.

I see many pipes, tubes, etc.. coming from owners homes down into the water. When I take a closer look it appears most go all the way up to the house. What are these for? Either drainage or being pumped up for something??

Side question- Do bass use them as cover? You ever catch any fish around them?

Travis is full of them too but do they cause massive lake drops? Depends on the size of the lake. Yes they contribute but no rain is no rain. Can't fix that

The irrigation drains don't do near as much as the evaporation and whats being pass down the line for the water supply plant at Lake Worth.

Yes the fish will hold to them and you need to throw at every one you come too that are still in the water.


BTW if you ever see a pipe running from a house and water is being drained into the lake, then its needs to be reported. House hold/grey water can not be discharged into the lake legally. Rain water can be diverted to the lake though.

I wish some would conserve a bit more but with the property taxes they pay I can see them having a little right to use the water for those purposes. They are invested into it at a higher level than most.

at least the lakeside sprinkler systems runoff back into the lake, unlike the ones In the city that dump thousands of gallons of water a year onto the sidewalks and streets....

Living by the coast, when it floods and wealthy lake owners get water on their back yards, the COE opens the gates and floods everybody down by the coast instead, they ain't got no money.

Got money? You will have water when others do not, and will not have flood water when others do.

Problem is, I ain't got no money....

Water is going to be Gold of the future. I can,t imagine how much water the big cities pump out of the ground, lakes etc. We have a water company close to us pumping 24 hours a day. That SPRING water is pumped out of the ground? I don.t think home owners can make much of a difference, but in combination, it all adds up.

A couple weeks ago on the radio they were talking about the LCRA going out to bust all the lakefront property owners who were using pumps to get lake water to water their yards with.

I can kinda see the argument FOR allowing that though... I mean the excess water does go right back into the lake, but I guess it would contribute to lake levels dropping due to evaporation.

Eagle Mountain seems to be dropping daily...

I'm am sure that they pay to use, it so if it is feasible for them to run a line further out in the lake, they should have the right to do so. Here the lake front owners pay for it. A friend of mine pays for it. When the water got so far out from his property that it was not possible for him to pump water, he was still sent a bill for it. He called them and told them he would not be paying for it until he could use it again.

Septic tank discharge

I live on and water from the lake. We are supposed to be complying with the city of ft worth water restrictions. We water 2 days a week like everyone else. Our excess water due to run off runs directly back to the lake. Also even people 15 miles from the water get it from the same place...the lake.
