Still a little warm to catching Crappie from the bank. They are out in 15 to 20 foot of water right now. the only thing you can catch right now off the bank is a few ggod size perch and Black bass early in the morning.

well I decided to go bank em at one of the same spots as yesterday I kinda knew they would be there ,,,,the pattern is midday or go home by dinner time they leave the shallow water I hit it late yesterday an hour before sunset and they were gone hunting already ... fished 7 to 8 foot deep under a float same as the day before same spot we managed about 25 keeper crappie and 4 channel cat nothing else got in our way today all on jigs ...lost one very large crappie on the surface when it jumped lost another crappie in a right at me feet wrestling match my bud released fish till I got there ...anyway .... 10 to 14 foot of water 8 foot average below the float we goofed around with em for 3 bout hours and yes ....we put a few of them on ice just for good measure ,,,, so here they are pre iced and as always ... Dang, nice stringer especially from the bank off of jigs in late summer. Did you dial in on the color they were after or was it just a matter of finding them hungry?
I bet your inbox might see some action. Crappie aren't supposed to bite from the bank in summer time :-)

I bet your inbox might see some action. Crappie aren't supposed to bite from the bank in summer time :-) thanks sir , we do enjoy a well rounded scenario on the ketchn crappie thing .... we have a theory on the ketchn of crappie .... find them ketch them most of the time its finding them it seems to us that's the ticket they have a routine that's fairly predictable in this case its go when its HOT AND SUNNY NOT when its cooler and late in the day the day before was nice in the late evening but the fish were NOT there done left to roam the open water at night but color does play into the situation frequently in this case a color combination in a not terribly bright chart with some sparkle was a good bet I did my damage to em on a Thermocline small fry silver flash/chart on a 1/16 oz pink walmart jighead under a walmart Styrofoam pinch on float straight silver flash should have worked but for some reason they didn't think much of it ? a few were managed on some other colors .... but predominantly the jig color in the photo with or without a painted head seemed best my bud used a BG in a similar color that was working for him as well

WTG Ketchn, you're tha man! Look like a beautiful lake in tha background of yer pic... texas state parks frequently have a combination of beauty and fish I bet if we wanted to ketch kitty catfish we could have put a serious whoopin on em 4 channel cat on jigs midday tells me it aint just crappie hangin roun hungry off them rocks and we manage several other species most of time as well flatheads bass carp and a few black crappie sometimes as well last visit my bud ketched about 35 lb carp and a guy visitng him took a 20 lb flatty up to his fish camp to fry up with his family there is a bunch of bait in the area most of the time and the rest of the fish hang around to enjoy the bounty those who follow my posts know this is my second texas state park in less than a week that produced lots of crappie fish off the bank K A B O O M

it seems to us that a boat makes it WAY easy to ketch crappie fish most of the time we chuckled at how bad we would smoke them if we could get on top of them but with the water levels so low , many places its the bank for us one thing for sure somewhere sometime during the day there are crappie you can ketch from the bank stay tuned , I am probably going to bank fish again in the next 24 hours at another spot then maybe the boat sunday afternoon .... and you ask ..... what kinda Bonehead would try to ketch crappie off the bank in the late summer ? the Outlaw Ketchn Whales would for sure and then of course one a my trademark selfies for the road .... stay tuned yawl ....and stay after em ....
