Have not ran my boat in a such a long time, it was time to run in a little while. Fished Mudflap for three hours. Was a tourney going out of Schumanns so parking was pretty packed. All the tourney boats headed up river. I headed down river since it was still very dark and did not want to chance any issues with other boats.

Saw tons of shad busting and heard lots of larger fish busting on them all around me. Tried a few flavors of top waters (spook & buzz bait) but got no takers. Rolled a spinner bait on top and hauled nuthin' but water. Hour of that and I crossed over to some docks. The water is really churned up so I tied on a tequila worm and that was the ticket. Caught three fish and also had several smacks from the blue gill.

Ran to some pads just past the launch and tried the worm and got nada. Same thing with all the shad busting around. Tied on a crank just to give it a shot. Got nothing.

Skiers came out in force starting at 7:15 and by 8 AM, I called it a day. Had to work anyway.

Fished Dunlap on Saturday morning. I have never seen so many schools of shad.
The fish have a plethora of bait to eat
I did manage a few bass up river

It was a dink-fest for me Sunday morning. No keepers.
I caught a couple of nice Warmouths on a T-rig.
The lake is not fishing the same as last year for me.
Getting quantity and quality are just not happening for most folks now.

Went down on Tuesday to attempt to thin down the shad population some, ended up with about 4 gallons of nice cutters for the freezer. It's right, there's a bunch of bait in there.
