Somebody somewhere will eventually use one to do a flyover and record the lake similar to the way some guys hire planes to fly over a lake. I bet it will happen sooner rather than later.

The guys on the TV show Rocket City Rednecks already used a drone to catch fish with a bobber... lol maybe that is the way forward

Drones are most effective in combo with ladder on front deck throwing a buzzy rod rigged with a laser lure doped with fizz.

Why stop with just the drone for pics? They can lower a 360 transducer into the water and transmit the image back to your humminbird. It could carry your lure way past those off limits areas you can't quite cast to from your boat. Hydrowave attachment can be used to lead schoolies away from your competition and bring them within castin distance to your boat. If that fails, just fire off a hell fire at 'em. Where can I preorder?

I've put a lot of thought into using one to scout for sight fishing.

Gerald Swindle already has a video on Facebook from his house. He flew it all around the area where he lives. I can't imagine he owns it for any other reason than scouting fishing areas!

That is an interesting concept, but I believe most of the publicly available ones have limited range. And at $3K each for a decent one, I'd have to keep that thing in sight. Remember the one that crashed during the Classic at Guntersville?

They will have to come a long way and the prices will have to go way down before they're useful for our purposes.
