Duckcreek Davey It is a 1977 85 hp Evinrude. If it was plugged i sure would love to know where it was plugged.

I have done this several times. With care drill a 5/16 hole, in the top center of the head till thru to water passage only. Tap hole with 1/8th pipe tap, use wd40 to lube. Install 90 degree fitting with 3/16th or 1/4 hose nipple. Drill the bottom pan and run hose out. You need to restrict the hose outlet to .045 to .060 hole. Secure hose at fitting and pan with tie raps.
