Loomis and Dobyns. Try a Loomis NRX and it is somewhat understandable of the high cost. I think the Dobyns Mike Long jig rod and crankbait rods are hard to beat. These rods are not cheap.

Hard to beat it for $69.99. If you buy it now, they are having their 15% off Labor Day sale through Friday, I think. That would bring you in at $357 for the set.

I don't spend a lot on rods (as long as you don't get a bad rod, the reel is more important IMO), but my favorite is an original All Star 7' medium that I use for topwaters and drop shot. Very strong with a fast tip.

For the price ($29 at Wmart clearance)---I got five AbuGarcia Vendetta fishing rods (both baitcasting and spinning in a mix of MH and medium)

Tackle Tour Review see link here Abu Garcia Vendetta

For durability--I've got some 20yo MH Ugly stiks that show no signs of breaking down.

Elite Rods, they are about to come out with another line up called the Black series. Which will be priced extremely well.
