Got a new ranger rt188 aluminum boat and was wondering if the micro would work on it. Anybody use one on an aluminum ?

I like your thinking. The micro has a capacity of 1500lbs. I'd say it would be worth trying if the boat + fuel + gear + passengers is a couple hundred less than the manufacturer's stated weight limit. If the boat (+) is right at the capacity or over the capacity, I wouldn't recommend it.
