Fished Gibbons Saturday from daylight to 3. Caught 3 in the first hour, two blew up on a frog near trees/reeds and I missed them both but followed up with a weightless Senko and caught them both. 3rd came on Ribbit in pepper grass off of a point. After that it got really tough. Caught two on flukes at base of reeds and just one more on Carolina rigged fluke at the dam. Fished deep at the dam, schooling areas, and discharge without a tap. Tried c rig, deep cranks, a rig deep. With the lake being closed during the week just can't understand why it is not more productive. I can go and catch 5 to 10 there routinely but double that on average at Fayette. Decided to hit Gibbons since Fayette gets tons of traffic on holiday weekends.

Any other Gibbons reports?

I fished there with two other fellow Kayakers on Saturday a week ago. We only caught 2 bass between the 3 of us between 6:30 and 9:30 AM. A few strikes on the frog but no hookups. I caught one on a 7" watermelon redflake zoom worm.

Was having the same issue with the Gibbons "educated bass" striking the frog but no hook-ups. I think they never have seen a full grown live frog and are only turning and slapping it with their tails and refuse to bite.

A quick followup weightless Senko, cast just beyond and pulled within a few inches of the frog slap will though often get an actual bite.

Fished gibbons this past sat morn, caught one on a t-rigged baby brush hog and 2 more on a t-rigged lizard flipped into the lilly pads. After that.... Nothing. Fish were in 3-5 fow

If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

In a world of compromise.....Some don't.
