Thanks! Wish I had known what is was and took measurements. From what I found the lake record is 17". This was sure close.

Goldeye or mooneye. There's massive amounts of them up on Milford lake in kansas. If you fish for blue cats. Try them as cut bait. They give shad a run for their money. Can't beat cut goldeye for catfish bait. We normally drift fish for blues and throw out one or two little poles with a bobber set about 2 ft above a hook a little bigger than one you would use for bream or sunfish. And use a sliver of shad or night crawler as bait. They are some hardy fighters let me tell ya. It's crazy. You can be in 30ft of water and run the rig 2 ft under the surface and still catch em. They are way up high in the water column

I've lived on Texoma all my life and never caught one. I guess I've got a new goal lol..
