We fished the JC Outdoors tourney today and couldn't catch anything but a few slots and a couple 10" unders.
Only one 8# over and a couple 5 fish limits were weighed in.
Lots of small fish schooling mid lake points.
Take lots of water, about 1:00 it was brutal out there. It was only 90 today but the humidity was 110%

I was thinking about going back out Monday but I think I'm gonna go prefish Sandlin for our club tourney week arter next.

Good luck.

Mark, did you get on any top water action this morning?
We had a few swirl at our yellow magics but wouldn't take it. I threw a couple frogs for awhile early and notta.

Start out early early and fish some top water find a bank with a fairly decent drop in depth, try and find some floating vegetation on that same bank. Dont spend to much time there, then move to hump or roadbed with the top around 17 ft. Then go to deep humps or submerged bridges with a top of 20+ use your graph and look for fish on the bottom and clouds of bait would be a bonus. Heavy C-Rig 1 oz tungsten some glass or brass clicker and a long leader(more than 3 ft) and experiment w/plastic the other baits I would use would be a Huge Flutter Spoon,Football Jig w/a big trailer, and if you can handle the heat a deep diving Bait 6xd or larger. Or if Mark Pack,Lance Vick,Andrew Grills,or one of the other Good Sticks chimes in on this topic whatever they say. Or if you want to go somewhat shallow go out about 2 hours after the sun goes down. Thats what I would do ..just my .02

In order to catch Big Fish..Sometimes you gotta Suffer.

My son & I fished Fork with David Ozio yesterday. We did mostly drop shot fishing and had a fairly productive day compared to others. We would have weighed a 5 fish limit of nice unders and had 3 over 5.5 and a couple of other slot fish. Most of the fish came from about 23ft off humps.
I learned a lot about my electronics and about fishing the drop shot. The was almost zero wind which made it tough but it sounds like we did better than most of the tournament fishermen. Not too many boats out for a holiday Saturday.
