I have never lost intrest. You may try swiching fish species. There are soooo many fish that fight super hard. If youd like to try cats lets do it.

I get the same feeling a few times a year.. Usually the beginning of cold weather does it to me. I noticed every other part of the year I'll watch all the fishing shows, make plans for 1-3 outings a week, constantly rearrange tackle and spend the time to completely clean up all my gear each trip.. And it all leads to overload.

Then after a 2-3 month break I'm chomping at the bit to get out again.

Once I went so far as to sell off some gear and now I wish I would have kept it. My opinion is if you don't need the money and you really want fishing/kayaking to be your hobby long term then use your break to hang with family/non fishing buddies, recharge your motivation and go hook some fish when you bounce back!

All good advice and has helped my attitude knowing others get in the same funk. I think I really want to get some stripers
so that will be my next outting as I see a few guys on here do that. Some big cats would be fun im sure.

Nothing like finding a couple of new lakes to put on your bucket list. Start planing you trip and research now and in no time you will be wanting to go.
