What a great day on the water battling the 100 degree heat. This was only my second time on this stretch of the river, so when Brady S. asked me to go, I was all in given he is an extremely experienced and proven river fisherman.

We put in 1 mile before Dicks and paddled up. Started the morning off a little slow, but once the sun got about the trees, the fight was one.

Got the day started off on this nice 3 lber which I stuck right around some timber. Brady then landed one on the spook that he custom made followed by another real small one by me.

We then paddled up another pool just enjoying the scenery. I was fishing a fluke as an air boat came romping around by us in which I told Brady "felt like I just got a bite." Meanwhile the waves crashed us and no more than when they stopped, my line started moving... I reeled down and boom, the fight was on!!!! She took me all the way under Brady's boat and gave a nice aerial show. While this is happening, Brady is already entering the water with net in hand. She makes her way all the way back to my right and Brady swims under my yak and lands her for the assist of the year! She was 22.22 inches and weighed 6.5 lbs. What a feeling!! You would have thought we just won the Super Bowl. Pretty sure everyone in a 2 mile radius heard us yelling. We landed a few more fish, but nothing to brag about. All in all, in was a wonderful day. Thanks again Brady for the invite.
