Daiwa Tatula Type R gets my vote. Tosses light baits very easy and they are reasonably priced on eBay.

I bought a Pro Max Abu Garcia today and description says it throws light tackle easily . Not tried it yet but it's definitely a sweet reel . Using a 6' Quantum rod with it .

Im looking to pick a new baitcaster this weekend specifically for using soft plastics. Anyone have any suggestions??? I would recommend the Abu Garcia REVO STX. This is an awesome reel. It is very lightweight and has a very smooth 20lb drag system. For fishing soft plastic baits I would recommend the 8.0:1 gear ratio. This reel will pick up 33" of line per reel turn allowing you to keep up with the fish when he comes racing towards the boat after setting the hook.
