Was out from 8:50 AM til 12:35 PM. Wasted time checking a couple of spots near the dam (Dam Drop-off and Dam Ridge). Still not much in dam area, but keep checking. Didn't find much at No Name Hump then went to Merimac Point and caught 10 in 12 fow. But fish were moving around and school not big enough to try to keep up with them. So, headed farther north to Spillway Hump. They were NOT on the north finger today - where they had been. They were out near the west end of the hump on the north edge in 14 to 16 fow. Caught 20 big whites and 2 hybrids there. Wanted to check Enchanted Isle Ridge before going in, so left fish at Spillway and went there. Fish were NOT at the usual north edge of the ridge but on the south edge in 14 to 16 fow. Caught 10 more there then left for home. Caught em with #2 and #4 at last spot and only on #4 at Spillway and Merimac.

Great report Dennis. I was on RR this morning and found fish schooling over a large area but only for a short time. They were also very selective about what they would hit. Ended up with 16 good ones then they were gone.

Want to share report from Saturday. We found a pretty good school of hybrids at the A-Frame on Saturday am. Lasted only about 30 min, but caught several up to 7 lbs. on sassy shad. Chartreuse was best. We saw 2 guide boats on the northern end of Key Ranch few hundred yards out from the shore. Thanks for your reports.

Thanks for sharing! I assume they were surfacing? What time of the morning - daybreak or later?

Thanks for the report Dennis. I fish vicariously through these reports. I'm not catching much at my desk at work. What type of electronics do you use?

I've been using a Hummingbird 586 , which has color HD sonar but no GPS, on the 17 boat. Early this summer I got a Hummingbird 859 w/downscan and GPS for my 21 ft boat. I recently bought and installed the Mid-south Lakemaster SD map card and am greatly impressed with the level of detail and accuracy of the contours. So much so that I just bought a Hummingbird 899 with the map feature and side-scan for the 17 ft boat. Will be installing it this week. I'm excited about using the SD card map to explore unfamiliar sections of the lake and identify potential new structures.

Re down and side scan, I need to learn what concentrations of sandies and what hybrids look like.
