At the break of day trout we were throwing trout in the
Boat. Twenty minutes later we had fifty trout in the boat.
Stopped several favorite spots and the trout were there also.
The Mississippi River is at a 4.7ft low and the speckled trout
Know it and are showing it. Trout bite is on.

What does the low river do to the trout that makes them bite so well? Concentrate the bait?

In early spring Mississippi River is high, cold and fresh water because
Of melted snow. When the melted snow is done the river and it's fresh water drop.
salinity on the bottom moves in along with bait fish and shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico.
Right temperature and salinity, fish move in and the bite is on. The lower the river, the closer
The reds and trout. Redfish have now entered the Mississippi River and can be caught 15minutes from the dock. Trout are starting to move into the river. Trout will be in the river and biting hot at end of October
Through end of December when cold fronts start coming. The first raise of the river from melted
Snow starts in January and trout move out again till spring when river drops again.
