What areas of the lake are safe for running WOT? I've only been out there once before and stayed near the dam. I'm not worried about long points or shallow areas as I am about submerged timber. I've heard that before you get to Wolf Island to shut it down and idle (East & NE) but what about the rest of the lake, particularly the western half? Can I run on plane from Pecan Creek (3002 Ramp) south towards the dam? Thanks for your help.

I would not run WOT anywhere past a telephone pole.

my first time at Roberts this year I started idling at Wolf, spent 2-3 hours idling and trolling to back of Indian. I now have a trail I'm confident running at that water level and higher. I suggest doing the same so you can see what you can do or not. if you want to run it, then you need to be OK with your electronics and running within feet of stumps.

You can run from the 3002 all the way around to Wolf Island and not worry about standing timber.

Yes you can run it only of you know where your going. If you don't know follow somebody or idle. That's really your only option.

You can run from the 3002 all the way around to Wolf Island and not worry about standing timber. Just stay away from the shore line.

Thanks for the tips everyone. I have an 898 at the console so I should be able to avoid long points and mid-lake humps. My main concern is the timber. Like I said I've only been out there once and I'm not even sure which part of the lake is best for fishing. I know that timber = structure = fish. I'm just nervous to venture out in the timber heavy part of the lake yet
