I seen a few posts asking how to go about catching sandies at nite. That has been my brand of fishing for sandies for 15 plus years. I was tired of waterskiers buzzing me jetskis coming too close and the hot Texas Sun beating down on me so I was introduced to this type of fishing. Was given some of Carol Rommell's Cerco Jigs. Well I was hooked for life. Its really simple find a dropoff slope or humps anchor out put out lights and wait for the shad to come in in an hour or so you will have thousands of shad circling your boats. I literally catch them by the hundreds. For those interested in learning how to fish this way you can contact Carol @ 972-286-8408 903-389-4018..

I used to love to fish at night but find now that I like to sleep more. Man 15 years ago I would buy minnows by the pound and it was some good fishing. I think I might try it again this year just for some fun.

Carol Rommel sells them as well as the lights. Personally I I use the orange/black on bottom then dark blue/white, red white and blue, pink, then white have fished them in that order on several different lakes with limits in a short amount of time. I remember one trip on Lake Weathorford with my late Father and a buddy of mine, after we got our limit times three kept fishing as releasing all others we we boated 212 fish by 2am only way I fish for sandies anymore.

A light to shine on or in the water to attract bait fish, is what they are talking about.
I do enjoy a good Squirt now and then.

Do you do this in the open lake or do big coves work as well? Do you need to mark fish or you just wait untill they come to you?
How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?

Sorry Maybe I did not make myself clear. I understand coleman lanterns , l.e.d. lights , incadesent , ect. In the dark ages we used to stay all night and come back at first light.I am asking what type of light you all use getting home in the dark. thank you.
