My friend went to Texoma couple of weeks ago fishing for stripers, caught his limit. When he cleaned the fishes, he was so surprised to find those creatures in the belly:

So I tied up this, hope to catch stripers with it:

I tried it on one outing, got few bites, but no hook ups. So far I did not catch a striper with it yet.

This afternoon, I took my wife to the park in Coppell for a walk. Naturally I dropped my fly line in the water for "casting practice". I put that grass hopper on, and caught a "big" lmb. hahaha.

LOL, you tied up the articulated pattern to catch big strippers and caught a trophy small mouth. Then tie up grasshoppers for strippers and catch big LMB. Maybe you'll figure out the big stripper pattern one day. Your next stripper pattern will probably catch a trophy carp, LOL!!

Moon, you are either awful good or lucky. Either way you catch some nice fish.

My parents live right up by texoma and they have grasshoppers in epidemic proportions this year they just completely gave up on their garden because it was eaten to the ground. So I would guess there are a ton of them falling in the lake amongst schooling stripers on the surface and they see that motion on the surface and attack. That is really cool

Ray Roberts is eat up with hoppers as well. The last time I ran across the lake on a calm day you could see dozens of catfish cruzing the surface looking for them.

Haha, I do think that I am very lucky: lucky to have RexW showing me the basics of fly casting, lucky to learn from y'all wonderful people.

Luck? You've spent way too much effort and time into learning, studying, practicing, and time on the water actually fishing for this to be luck.

Congratulations! Your hard work is paying off.
