Forney Bass Club is sponsoring an informal Big Bass open on Monticello on Dec 9. Forney does not have open tournaments during the season so this is a good chance to check us out and see if you want to fish with us next year. Here are the details: Dec 9 - 6:30 until 12 noon be on the water by 6:15 $20 per boat - no more than 2 people per boat 2 Winners split the pot - Largest Bass over the slot and Largest Bass under the slot. If no overs then the largest under takes the whole pot. For largemouth bass, length limit is a 14-24 slot. Bass 14 inches and less or 24 inches or greater in length may be retained. Only one bass 24 inches or greater may be retained each day. Open tournament - guests and perspective members are welcome. Hot Dog Cookout at Noon. www.forneybassclub.com

Nitro, never been to Monticello but definitely interested in fishing the tourney. Where will you be hoding the registration and weigh-in?

Registration and weigh in is at the ramp. One fish per boat only (not one over and one under)
$20 per boat whether you are fishing single or with a partner.
Our club treats spots and largemouth the same so we don't have to argue at weigh in on which species it is so.... All fish have to be under 14 or over 24.
Guys, this is a fun informal event. We will probably use a balance beam to weigh the fish don't even know if our club scales will be there. Show up early as I hear there is another club going to be on the lake. If you want to bring some drinks or chips for the cookout, you're welcome to do so.
