New to crappie fishing. Do you guys use braid or fluorocarbon?

Braid for sure because it has NO stretch and no memory with the ability to get jigs out of brush. Mono only on dock shooting rigs because it casts smoother...

Used to be a mono guy, until I spooled up some Bonehead 12 pound braid. I really like it.

Try Spiderwire Flouro-braid. Same strength as braid and sinks like fluorocarbon. Been using it for 2 years now and love it.

I use six pound hi vis mono exclusively. The only reason I don't use braid is that I've seen a couple of instances were the fish weren't biting the jig tied to the braid.

Using both on Ray Roberts. Zebra muscles cutting lines in treetops. Using mono pretty much in brushpiles. Like mono much better, but don't like loosing good fish in the big timber. Zebra muscles are sharp. They have frayed and cut braid a few times.
