Has anyone seen a cheap source for 6" Roboworms? I've started using them a lot this summer and while they work really well, they sure don't last long. About one fish per worm and that's it.

I've looked around and the $3.79 for a pack is pretty standard. Get most of my stuff from TW and try to hit the sales. I go through at least a pack about every morning (sometimes more), so it adds up pretty fast. I've used the Zoom Finesse worms, but they just don't seem to get bit as well - probably just a confidence thing.

It is just a confidence thing... Robo is all I use myself. Anytime I go to the west coast, I tend to pick up a lot of bags

But I still use a very dear old friends baits... I have been using his stuff for about 30 years or so. He has a new company that is very local here in north texas and is very popular...

ZZ lures and I believe they are on here from time to time...

If you can catch the Cabela's in waco during the season change they make great deals when they switch from fishing to hunting. I didnt get roboworms that day but a lot of stuff they were selling very cheap. Got a new chronarc reel for 30% off. Lots of tackle was on sale including plastics.

I saw them on Tackle Warehouse's site.......59 colors available?

What colors are you catching fish on?

Bass Pro has a good selection of them. I use them a lot and Xcite worms too.

Thanks,

They will nearly all work. My favorites are probably Aaron's Magic, Bold Bluegill and Oxblood. (They have some catchy names, don't they?) I seem to do better on the 6" size rather than the 4.5" and the zipper grub, but I'm sure they all have their moments. I'm able to find some shad schools and stay over them with a straight down drop in 10-15' of water early in the A. M. and while I catch some small fish, there are plenty of 3-5 lb fish mixed in.

Jim,

If you are only getting one fish per worm I think the issue may be your hooks. Before spending more money on worms I would suggest you try Robo Worm Rebarb Hooks. The thin wire for light drop shot and the medium wire for heavier line or baitcaster. That barb really works and I can catch lots of fish on one worm. Every know and then I still lose some if I get a smaller fish flopping around but I think this would help out with your problem.

Check out the Shaking Squirrel from Big Bite, Jim.

Nice laminated colors, cheaper than Robo and hold up well. Still very soft, but has a "skin" on the outside that makes it more durable.

Hard to explain. But you'll see what I'm talking about.

Tackle Warehouse has them for less than $3.

Here ya go.

Thanks, I'll give them a try. I'm sure I could lose less if I t-rigged them, but I've been nose hooking them from the bottom and bringing the point of the hook out almost through the nose. It seems to add quite a bit of action, but they get slung off easy.

There are very few products out there that are simply as good as Roboworm. Lots of other brands but they are so tough to beat and priced well enough its hard not to use them.

Thanks, Rog. I'm about to make another order and I'll pick up a few packs of these. Looks like they have quite a few colors (11) and some are the same as the Robos.
