Net Girl was busy today with her new Great Nephew so I got to test out the new 8' Bonehead rod. The rod is very well made, balanced and light weight. It has a lot of "backbone" also. I paid particular attention to the way it handled hooksets that would yank crappie from 9' of water in one swoop right into the boat. Elevator rides to the ice. It performed admirably. It is every bit the rod my St Croixs are. I would not hesitate to replace one of the 7'ers I have if it broke with a 7' Bonehead. That 8'er is an extremely sensitive rod. I could feel my jig moving between branches very easily. If you have $99 try one out. I bet you will like it.

I just broke an old St. Croix rod ( 6'6"). I thought I'd take a look based on what Bobcat said. The website doesn't say if the rods are 1 or 2 piece. I'd really like to give one a try.
