Any one know where to find catfish on this lake? Not much deep water to be found. VERY stumpy!
Camping with the family next week and would like to get the kids on some cat fish.

I haven't fished the main lake in years, but my fishing has mainly been in the river near George West. My family fished it years back and it was and still is a catfish lake. You could probably close your eyes and throw a rock and where you saw the ripples just cast into that spot. Seriously though just look for those stumpy looking areas near the creek channels or along any rocky shoreline with deeper water nearby. A creek can be just a gradual slope in the landscape where runoff comes into the lake from heavy rain. Good luck! The state park has a fishing pier also that is good for crappie, bluegill and cats. Some worms, a bobber split shot weight and small perch hook, it shouldn't be hard to find something for the kiddos to catch. Minnows, shrimp and chicken livers should be the choice for cats.
