I'll be taking a week off of work in December after I graduate and I plan on loading up the kayak and going fishing somewhere awesome. So I come to y'all to figure out where I want to go. I'm looking for anywhere in the lower 48 that I can get my Kayak to. I want to do anything from bass fishing, to fly fishing, to BTB. I might do all of it if I can get it lined up.
Where should I go?

Some place warm. South Florida is nice that time of year and lots of great fishing.

If I had the time I would drive to Fort Lauderdale / Miami and fish for Bullseye Snakeheads, Peacock Bass and the myriad of other non-native fish they have there in the canals. I would love to catch snakeheads from a kayak. Watch out for the gators though. Also, on my way there and back I would swing north a little and try some of the bass fishing in the states along the way. I went last year for a couple of days without the kayak and hired a guide to fish for snakeheads and peacocks and had a blast. It would be easy to use a kayak because they are in the canals that you can just drop the kayak in almost anywhere. As a bonus the guide I went with also catches snook in those canal quite often. Snakehead Peacocks

Florida is definitely in the running for my trip. I'm just trying to decide what I want to target when I go and exactly where in Florida I want to go. I was thinking about going to Venice, LA... Is it a good place to Kayak Fish?
And Christian, I had never heard of Isle Royal. Looks like an awesome place!

I would go to Florida due to large variety of fish between fresh and salt. Venice in a yak is going to be long paddles and less variety, but good especially for red fish. Might happen across some young ladies on the beach in Florida too...
Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

Ok... Florida is a strong lead for my trip. I just have to do my research. I need to figure out exactly where in Florida I want to go. The Keys are about 19 hours from Aggieland. Who has a couch down there I can sleep on? Or a good camp ground with showers.

I think what I need is a poor college student's kayak fishing travel agent. Does that exist?

Long Key State Park has campsites for tents or tents/RV, has hot showers, and most campsites have their own beachfront. Long Key is about halfway down the Keys shortly before the town of Marathon. I camped there during Spring Break my senior year but that was '75 so its been awhile.
