My son and I (along with two friends), were flash flooded off the Pecos River on June 20th when the river rose over 30 feet on us (after 11 inches of rain). We climbed out of the canyon but lost everything including three kayaks, and canoe and several thousand dollars of camera and camping equipment. Last Saturday, an angler named Brandon Beck found the Pelican Case with my son's camera gear on Amistad during a bass tournament. The waterproof Pelican case contained about $6,000 worth of my son's camera equipment, and after finding it, Brandon then went on to find us in order to return it though one of the guys who was with us in the flood (since we live in Ft Worth).





Words cannot convey how grateful we are for his honesty. If he reads this, I thank you, sir, for returning my son's equipment and restoring some of my faith in humanity. I was raised in California and can tell you good Samaritans are rare there. If anyone knows Brandon Beck, please ask him to get a hold of me through Scott Gartman or on here. Manchu...the canoe was sighted a few miles below Lewis Canyon. No sign yet of the kayaks. We're heading back down for another look.
