I too have 8 spiral guide rods from Custom Angle. I sold my Dobyns and Loomis rods that were twice the price. Once you use a quality spiral guide I honestly don't think you can go back. I have: Wacky Drop shot Several trigs Jig Carolina Special And several glass crankbait rods that can throw a crank bait a mile.
If you call Custom Angle Rods, Dave will either answer the phone himself or return your call as soon as he can. Good luck finding someone that takes as much pride in his craft as Dave. Pros: line sits on the guides like a spinning reel, so there is no rod interference to dampen even the slightest tick. Rods are true to their power. A medium is actually a medium, and a heavy is a true heavy. Rods have overpowered themselves for some reason. Castability- I can flip a bait as far as some can cast with these rods. I order mine with micro guides and you simply cast a mile with them. Rod torque- ever fought a large fish and it changed direction on you while your rod was committed to a direction? Doesn't happen with a spiral wrap. Craftsmanship- not sure with other spiral wraps, but Daves are all constructed with his own hands, and it shows. Cons? None that I can think of.

I don't have a Custom Angle rod so I can't speak for those but I have a spiral wrap rod that I purchased many years ago and I never noticed any improvement in casting distance or ability to fight a fish than the rods with the guides on top. It is true that when under a load your line only touches the guides and not the rod blank so I use it for strolling crank baits.
Mine is a Revolver custom rod.

I have a couple that I built myself years ago.. I feel they are at there best when fishing straight up and down. Jigging spoons-- drop shot-- punching grass with big weights and braid is where I really think they shine.. I'm surprised that some high end rod company's don't offer some.. I figure it must be to time consuming and expensive to make them for a small market.

Dave with Custom Angle has been a rod sponsor of my wifes for years. I got tired of the arse whooping that I was receiving from her and decided to try a CAR, they put my rods to shame on sensitivity and more casting distance. Have since switched over to CAR and love them, and the micro guides add even more performance, and you will not meet a better person to work with than Dave, class act. Just try one

Baitcasting rods where the guides start on top and then wrap to the bottom like spinning rods!

I have 3 Skeleton rods built by a rod builder in Idaho, I have had them for over 13 years. They are more sensitive, they do cast a might further and the sensitivity is there. Only con I know of is I had to aim about 3' to the right of where I wanted the lure to land on the light CB rod. Didn't do that on the heavier rods, but the lighter one did. Don't know why, but I adjusted to it and never looked back. Kit, mentioned above, was the first to do the spiral wrap, that I am aware of. Hope this helps.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I build my own, I use a spiral wrap almost exclusively, especially with micro guides

They are more sensitive. We use to do sensitivity tests for people at show with them.
