if gore is in your general area for fishing (Illinois river comes in there) this place is real nice, on the river and you can catch trout for dinner. have stayed here a couple of times and it is quiet and safe. august it will have folks there, I went in the fall. http://www.marvalresort.com/

oh and you can launch just down the road, got to trim up for a little ways if the dam is not open but the river is only about half a mile I think.

Hampton or Holiday inn in muskogee are OK, BE SURE to take in all your valuables. Launch at three forks, even with a regatta there will be plenty of room. You can't fish too shallow on the river in summer the hotter the better. Find backwater sloughs with some timber and pitch plastics in there and bounce a squarebill though it.
Another area you may look at is Greenleaf State Park. Nice cabins in there, Highway 10 landing is across the road on the river and Greenleaf is full of big bass.

My house! Just kidding Hampton is the best place. There is also Fairfield inn and holiday inn express. So many good fisheries in Muskogee, I am very blessed. Ft Gibson, eufulah, tenkiller, green leaf, all really close too. I do love river 2.
