Does anyone have any experience baiting a hole for catfish or know the best way to do this? I use soured millet as a chum when we pull up to a place and it works well if there are any catfish in the area. I've always wondered about baiting a hole somehow to draw catfish in and keep them in the area for a longer period of time. Is this sort of thing considered bad catfish form? I think that catfish guides who fish the same spots day after day end up doing this because there is bait and chum in the water in almost the same place every day almost like a fish feeder. I only go out on the weekends so it would be of interest to me to try and hold fish in a particular area for a week at a time. We fish Lake Somerville.
Thanks.

Get some 5gal. buckets and put some corn or maize mixed with water in it. Let it sit for a few days or until it stinks so bad that it makes you gag. Put a lid on the bucket and seal it. Take the buckets and a cordless drill to where you want to sink'em then hold the buckets over the side of your boat and drill several holes in it and put it in the water. Let it fill with water until your sure it will sink and then let it go, you may want to add some bricks or something to help them sink

Yup + 1... That'll work don't get any on ya ..Youll smell like sour the rest of the day it don't wash off and won't be welcome back inside the house ....You can add a few bricks to the bucket with the grain to help with sinking and if you put it around the stickups you can tie it off and retrieve it later..It's nice to have some when you come back out to fish to toss around the area to..

I use soured milo and bait up my spots 2-3 times per week.
